Pam Sheppard worked with the Sales and Marketing departments of Big 5 trade publishers for over 25 years. She has discussed structure and style with some of the best editors in the business, helped create proprietary book products, planned and delivered publicity programs, and sold to the best book buyers across ten states. Nine years selling for 40 medium and small publishers added another side to her understanding of the publishing landscape.
For the years of pitching literary and commercial bestsellers, some amazing successes and some spectacular failures, the effort has always been to recognize the books and ideas that key into exactly what the marketplace wanted. Selling hundreds of new fiction and non-fiction titles every year shaped the instincts for recognizing good, original projects and led naturally to editing and consulting both new and accomplished writers on their projects.
